Presentation Topic/Details: Crude/Condensate Splitter Design for Midstream

There is not a single, “best” design for a crude/condensate splitter unit as each is, typically, customized for what the owner perceives to be the normal feed slate, product specifications and associated economics.  There are numerous design and equipment configuration options to produce on-specification products for a given feed basis and product specifications.  Optimum decisions on the heat integration, separation and fractionation equipment configuration and sizing is driven by several factors including product recovery, capital cost, operating cost, maintainability and operational flexibility.  Further, there are client-specific constraints (e.g. schedule, permit, plot, utilities, etc.) that factor into the equation as well.

Presentation will include an overview of a recently designed and constructed Crude/Condensate Splitter and Tank Farm specifically for the Midstream sector detailing:

            -Impact of Feedstocks on design

            -Impact of Specifications on design

-Energy Utilization / Heat Integration (including the impact of non-steam design)

-Separation / Fractionation (including Vacuum System)

-Product / Offgas Treating / Permitting
